The VTech camera (Kidizoom) is one of the market leaders when it comes to kid tough camera brands. This is because of their appealing design and excellent quality.
VTech camera models are availble in three kid-friendly designs - pink, blue and camouflage (with changeable face plates). These are tough, are waterproof and can cope with hours of rough play. These come with a dual viewfinder to help even the youngest child create a decent picture.

If you think your child could become frustrated by the lower quality picture, or you wish to pay only once a quality waterproof camera that kids can also use, you may want to consider proper rugged camera brands that can also double up as a kids tough camera. These latter cameras are compact, more lightweight and offer far more features than the toy VTech camera models. More importantly, these are more tough including better waterproofing as well as shockproof, freezeproof and even crushproof features. These are not necessarily that much more expensive either, with some models only costing fractionally (well worth it more considering the much higher specifications you get).
